Join us to bike or walk scenic routes through the beautiful countryside of central Vermont. Walk or Pedal for PSC is fully supported and includes snacks and drinks along the way. The event will raise funds and awareness for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a serious disease of the bile ducts of the liver that can affect all ages from young to old. PSC destroys liver cells and ultimately, the ability of the liver to function. The disease has no cure and few effective treatments. But, promising studies are in the works and we need your help to keep the research going! Please help us help those who suffer daily from this devastating disease. Enjoy cycling and walking routes with breathtaking scenery while helping to improve the lives of people with PSC. Join us in Vermont to Walk or Pedal for PSC!

A little about Woodstock Vermont
Woodstock, the event's home base, is one of Vermont’s most beautiful towns. Settled in 1768, the town has been meticulously preserved and retains its historical and architectural integrity.  The town green is bordered by handsome Georgian, Federal and Greek Revival houses. Past residents, Laurance and Mary French Rockefeller, enhanced the town’s charm by burying power lines throughout the village and by donating their mansion and property to create Vermont’s only national park. The town boasts numerous cultural and outdoor opportunities. Upscale boutiques, fine art galleries and excellent eateries line idyllic streets. The town is surrounded by a network of scenic trails and country roads - perfect for walking and pedaling for PSC!

Two Options:

  • Three Day, Two Night Event - July 28-30, 2017
  • One Day Event - July 29, 2017

For both, everyone joins together for the walking or cycling challenge on the 29th.

Day 1
(Three-day event participants) Arrive at the inn in Woodstock, VT in the mid-afternoon and meet your guides and fellow challengers. Enjoy refreshments while guides fit bikes for those renting. Set out on a short warm- up bike ride or walk through the beautiful Vermont landscapes. Return to the inn and enjoy a swim in the pool or a soak in the hot tub. After, savor a delicious dinner at the inn and get excited for the next day’s cycling or walking challenge!

Day 2  (All participants) Join with fellow cyclists, walkers, PSCers, and their supporters on a remarkable journey, experiencing the beauty of central Vermont and testing personal fortitude. Discover stunning long-range views, pastoral dairy farms, fields of flowers, tranquil ponds, fragrant hay fields, sparkling rivers and green forests. Along the way you may spot wildlife such as deer, turkeys, hawks or fox. You will also encounter a number of hills, as one would expect in the Green Mountain State. Just remember why we are riding or walking and that will keep you going. Enjoy delicious food, drink and camaraderie at a post-challenge celebration. Those participating in the three-day tour will continue to celebrate the hard work in the fight against PSC over dinner with the group.

Please contact us for start times for each activity/distance.

Day 3   (Three-day event participants) Enjoy breakfast at the inn, then take an optional bike ride or walk discovering more of Vermon'ts scenic landscapes. After, spend time in Woodstock visiting the sites of your choice. You may choose to visit Billings Farm and Museum, a working dairy farm with a farmhouse and museum depicting rural farm life in the 19th century. You might visit the Marsh- Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. The Rockefeller mansion contains an impressive collection of art amassed by Marsh and Billings, including one of the largest collections of Hudson River School Art. You may also want to peruse the shops in town - you’ll find clothing boutiques, shops with hand-made Vermont products, country stores and fine art galleries. For those desiring more exercise, join an escorted walk to a hilltop with panoramic views over hills and valleys. If you wish, simply spend time taking it easy at the inn. This relaxing morning will be the perfect reward for your hard work in the fight against PSC.
