Day 1   Transfer to the start of the adventure - the idyllic Three Stallion Inn in Randolph, VT, set among horse farms, the Inn’s Montague Golf Course and embraced by the Green Mountains. Enjoy welcome refreshments while your guides fit bikes for those who are renting gear. Embark on a short ride exploring the countryside farms and mountain views near the Inn and begin to discover why this special place quickly captures the hearts of all who visit. Enjoy a private beer tasting of locally brewed Vermont craft beers followed by a delicious dinner of farm-fresh foods.

Biking Mileage: 5

Day 2    Cycle back roads discovering the “real” Vermont where it is not unusual to share the road with cows or farm tractors. Pedal by hill farms that have been in the same family for generations and whose bucolic appearance belies the hard done work within. Pedal alongside rivers, lakes and bogs watching for beaver and moose.  Enjoy breathtaking ridgeline vistas of mountain ridges stretching to the horizon. Back at the Inn, take a hike on the trails or play a few holes of golf. Or, simply relax on the veranda and watch the sun sink in the western sky bathing the inn and barns in a golden glow. Enjoy a farm-to-table dinner prepared by expert chefs.

Biking Mileage: 32, 41 or 46

Day 3   Warm up on an invigorating morning climb with more sensational ridgeline views as the reward. Then, enjoy easy cycling as you follow the river’s gradual descent. This nearly effortless stretch of road makes seemingly expert cyclists of us all. Travel through charming Vermont villages and if you like, stop at the country stores along the way. Arrive in Norwich, a quintessential Vermont town first settled in 1763 that boasts fine Georgian, Federal and Greek Revival homes. A classic New England church, featuring a tall steeple housing a Paul Revere bell, guards the town green. Head to the Norwich Inn to enjoy the comforts of this historic Inn, which include a pub, restaurant, microbrewery and fireside rooms that invite relaxation. Enjoy a delicious dinner with the group.

Biking Mileage: 32.7

Day 4   Pedal over the Connecticut River to the handsome town of Hanover, NH. Explore the campus of Dartmouth College and the shops and cafés lining Main Street. Cycle back to Vermont and visit the award-winning King Arthur Baking School and Store, a dream spot for those who like to bake – or to eat baked goods. Return to the Inn to shower and check out. Say goodbye to one another and to the sparkling rivers and radiant ridgelines of this remarkable region of New England.
