Participants may choose from three departures in 2015 – June 14, July 12, or September 13 – and will meander from Provincetown to Martha’s Vineyard, visiting old whaling towns, national seashores, wildlife refuges, and other iconic coastal destinations along the way. Participants will cycle the Outer- and Mid-Cape, discovering a landscape graced by sweeping ocean vistas, rolling dunes, stately lighthouses, and maritime forests. Guests pedal the Cape Cod Rail Trail and visit quintessential Cape towns offering eclectic shops, excellent restaurants, fine art galleries and a low-key beach vibe.
One notable destination on the tour, the Cape Cod National Seashore, offers forty miles of pristine sand beaches, wild cranberry bogs, kettle ponds, heathlands and a visitor’s centers offering panoramic views. This stretch of seashore is home to some of the most popular beaches including Nauset Light Beach, Coast Guard Beach and Race Point Beach. Bike paths along the seashore will bring guests up-close to these and other beaches and to the region’s famous lighthouses.
During the Captivating Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Bike Tour, a ferry ride transports guests to the heart of the Cape and Islands scene: Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Guests cycle through villages that have preserved their architecture for over 200 years, explore the sea captain mansions of Edgartown, and discover quintessential fishing villages, island farms and the red cliffs in Aquinnah.
