The Freedom of Culture

Great Freedom Adventures curates upscale excursions for travelers energized by history, inspired by nature, and intrigued by culture. Our guided three to six-day insider adventures are hosted by local industry experts passionate about the region that they live in. We tread lightly on the land and ecosystems, understanding that we are nature’s guests; we are respectful caretakers. The meticulously planned routes are punctuated with hidden treasures, vibrant landscapes, luxury accommodations, and world-class dining.

The Freedom of Experience

Founded by Jeanne Rummel, a cycling professional with over 40 years of touring expertise and 18 years of experience creating exceptional multi-day biking and hiking adventures. With a keen knowledge of the industry and a passion for adventure, Jeanne grew Great Adventure into a trusted name in excursion travel. In 2021, eager to have more time for her own adventures, she handed the reins to new owner Andy Boger.

Joe Solomon

I’m Joe and an adventure guide with Great Freedom Adventures. While qualified to lead any outdoor excursion, my favorites include cycling, hiking, kayaking, and skiing. However, equally enjoyable is touring with my beautiful bride Annie in our Airstream.Live Life. Love Adventure.

Annie Hartman

I’m Annie. I have made a career in health and wellness and have a passion for helping people find their motivation to live their own best lives. When not working, I can be found biking, hiking, running, skiing, kayaking, swimming and just about anything else that keeps me outdoors and active.

Steve Hansen

I’m Steve and have been turning cranks since I could walk. Cycling and the outside have been a constant in my life. After a career in software R&D I returned to my love of the bike world where I am a master mechanic specializing in performance and e-bikes. As a dedicated “roadie” you can find me on the roads or gravel of New England with the best riding partner in the world, my wife Denise. When not on a bike you can find me growing, cooking and eating the best New England has to offer. I believe there is the right bike and perfect ride for anyone who seeks it out. Take the least traveled path, it’s where the adventure begins.

Karen Bolton

Karen Bolton is a New Hampshire native now residing on Plum Island, MA where she has lived for the past 20 years. She is a recently retired attorney who spent nearly all of her non-working time for the past 30 years exploring the world by bicycle. Her favorite bike tours were the rugged countryside and deep cultural experience of Cuba and most recently the sheer accomplishment while witnessing the vast diversity as she cycled across country from Seattle, WA to NYC in 2021. She now hopes to share her great love of cycling with GFA riders and all that comes with an active adventure especially the feeling of freedom and fitness mixed with culture and NE history and being outside as a daily goal.
